Exploring the Autistic Self - Peer-Support Coaching Workshop

Are you seeking connection with fellow autistic adults who understand the journey that you’re on?

Are you looking for a teacher, mentor, or coach who is autistic and understands the challenges of living in a neurotypical society?

Join us to explore and embrace your autistic self in my 5-week autistic peer-support coaching program!

Regardless of whether you were diagnosed early or later in life, you have spent years suppressing your autistic identity and conforming to neurotypical norms.

Our focus will be on self-advocacy, unmasking, and cultivating self-care and self-regulation techniques.

Let's embark on this empowering journey together! My autistic life coaching groups are built in order to create community and bring together like-minded autistic people looking to grow their autistic self. We are all looking to find or get further in touch with our inner lives and unmask and live authentically.

Everyone will have an opportunity to share, to speak, to contribute, and to grow together in the small autistic communities we build together. All sessions are held on Zoom (virtual).

If you’re looking to benefit from autistic life coaching and support but want to also meet other autistic people and build your autistic community, these groups can be a life changing experience for you. Read some of the testimonials of past participants

Self Identification and Self Diagnosed autistic people are legitimate. The majority of autistic people have no access to a formal diagnosis.

These groups are not a substitute for medical advice or therapy.

  • Matthew is a kindhearted, skilled facilitator, makes the space welcoming, sets clear boundaries, and is passionately committed to his work and to his clients.

    Luz - Italy

  • Life-changing. Matthew is very good at what he does – I was right at the start of my understanding of my neurodivergence when I took the course and the learning was intense and immediately practical, the lessons I learned improving my life tangibly within weeks.

In the supportive and welcoming environment of this workshop, we dive into the multifaceted autistic journey. This space is intentionally designed for all autistic adults, whether you were identified early in life or later. Every autistic voice matters, and together we’ll explore the many layers of what it means to embrace and live authentically as an autistic person.

Our journey begins with recognizing and celebrating special interests, understanding them as more than reservoirs of expertise—they are pathways to self-expression, fulfillment, and joy. By immersing ourselves in these passions, we uncover a deeper sense of purpose and happiness.

We also explore the nuances of interoception and sensory experiences, reflecting on the heightened sensitivities often tied to autism. Through understanding our unique sensory profiles, we learn to navigate overwhelming stimuli, creating environments that support our well-being and promote balance.

Emotional landscapes take center stage as we explore the diverse ways autistic people experience and express emotions. Together, we cultivate self-awareness and tools for emotional regulation, acknowledging the grief and joy that may come with understanding our autistic identity. This is a space for healing, open dialogue, and validation.

Significant attention is given to understanding triggers, meltdowns, shutdowns, and autistic burnout. Together, we learn how to slow down, prioritize self-care, and build resilience. By understanding the root of our triggers and implementing strategies to navigate them, we empower ourselves to lead lives that are both balanced and fulfilling.

Our exploration extends to autistic masking, where we discuss the energy and toll of concealing autistic traits in a neurotypical world. This workshop encourages embracing authenticity while equipping participants with strategies to navigate social interactions and advocate for their needs effectively.

Finally, we turn to self-advocacy, empowering each participant to find their voice and assert their rights. We examine how to balance focus and impulsivity, discovering ways to align our need for routine with the desire for new experiences—all while staying grounded in our authentic selves.

My 5-week autistic peer-support workshop is a safe and affirming space for ALL autistics, late or early identified, to find validation, connection, and the opportunity for personal growth. Together, we’ll navigate the challenges of past relationships, embrace the bittersweet journey of self-discovery, and build the tools needed to promote resilience and self-empowerment.

  • Taking part in Matthew's workshop for late identified autistics was my first important step towards creating a neuro affirming life for myself.

    Melanie - Amsterdam

  • I felt so supported and understood by Matthew and all the wonderful people in my group. With that support, I was able to take steps to advocate for myself and my needs in ways that I probably wouldn’t have done on my own.

    Ryan - Vienna

I purposefully keep each autistic peer-support coaching workshop small, ensuring a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 8 participants alongside myself.

This intentional choice allows everyone in the group to have abundant opportunities to share their thoughts, speak openly, reflect on their experiences, and actively participate in the sessions.

While the scheduled duration of each group session is 90 minutes, the engaging discussions often extend beyond that time. Depending on the program, the groups meet once a week for 5 weeks.

In addition to the invaluable in-group sessions, participants gain access to a dedicated WhatsApp group specifically tailored to their cohort. This fosters ongoing communication and connection between sessions, providing a supportive network. Furthermore, I offer complimentary personal 1-on-1 support and coaching via WhatsApp throughout the program. This individualized guidance helps bridge the gap between sessions and offers tailored assistance.

My autistic group workshops are intentionally created as safe spaces for autistic individuals. You are encouraged to authentically express yourself, without the need to mask or hide. Feel free to be as visible or vocal as you feel comfortable, embracing your true self. These groups serve as environments where you can freely stim and be yourself, surrounded by fellow autistic individuals and myself, who openly share their experiences and lives. Many participants have found these groups to be truly transformative, as attested by the testimonials available on my website.

As the facilitator and leader of the group, I foster an environment that promotes free-flowing participation and meaningful interaction. The format is not a structured lecture with slides, but rather an organic and dynamic space where everyone's input is valued and respected. That being said, we follow a set syllabus and there is an order to the material being discussed.

However, it is crucial to note that these coaching groups are not a substitute for therapy or medical advice. While they offer valuable support and guidance, they do not replace the expertise and specialized care provided by therapists or medical professionals.

All of my workshops are offered on a PAY-AS-YOU-CAN & SOLIDARITY basis.

Autistic people in our society are severely underemployed and unemployed. I understand that everyone's financial situation is different, so I also offer a sliding scale based on what is most suitable for you.

If none of the rates are affordable for you, please don't worry. Simply contact me through the provided form, and I assure you that lack of finances will never be a reason for turning anyone away. We will work together to find a solution.

I am well aware of the financial struggles that many autistic adults face and as such, make every endeavor to make all of my services as accessible to everyone.

This group requires a significant investment of your time, energy, and resources. I deeply appreciate and respect this commitment.

I in turn ask that you acknowledge that it also requires a substantial investment on my part. I dedicate considerable time, energy, and resources to prepare for the groups, lead the sessions, provide support throughout the program, and fulfill my role as a teacher and coach, which demands considerable self-regulation.

The suggested participation fee for my groups is €300 (300 euros - approximately $310) for the duration of 5 weeks. If you are able to pay €300, I encourage you to do so. However, if you cannot afford that amount, it's perfectly fine.
